Social Program


Sunday

Punting on the river Cam will be available on Sunday,
September 11, 2011, from 15:30-17:00 hrs. Meeting point is
the registration area at The Gillespie Center, Clare College
Enjoy a trip starting from Clare College on the river Cam
along the historic "backs" to view the medieval colleges in a
chauffeur punt (a punt is a flat-bottomed boat designed
for use in small rivers. Punting refers to boating in a punt.
The punter who will be provided, propels the punt by
pushing against the river bed with a pole. Please contact
the
ET-12 Conference Secretariat for details.


A Welcome Reception will take place at the Scholars’ Garden,
Clare College, Old Court, on Sunday afternoon,
September 11, 2011, from 17:00 to 19:00 hrs



Monday

For guests, family members, and those interested a
guided tour through Cambridge, covering historical
Cambridge and the colleges of Cambridge University,
will take place. Further information will be available shortly.

The “ET-12 Conference Group Photograph” of all ET-12
conference attendees will be taken immediately
following Symposium II between 11:45 and 12:15 hrs
in front of King’s Chapel, on Monday, September 12th, 2011 .
Conference delegates and guests will walk to King’s
Chapel and attendees are asked to be available for the
photographer. In case of rain a new location will be announced
on September 12, 2011 during the morning sessions.

The ET-12 Young Investigator Event will be held at
the Junior Common Room at the Old Court of Clare College
on Monday evening, September 12th, 2011, starting at
18:00 hrs. Please contact the

Tuesday

A pre-banquet reception will be held in the Scholars' Garden
(weather permitting) on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2011,
starting at 19:00 hrs

The official ET-12 Conference Banquet will take place at
the 17th century Great Hall of Clare College, Old Court,
on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2011, the banquet
will start at 19:30. Please contact the

Scientific Program

The scientific program includes oral and poster presentations
and invited lectures. Information about the Scientific Program,
lectures and oral presentations can be found

Lecture Hall

Lectures and oral presentations will be given in
The Riley Auditorium at The Gillespie Center
located in the
Memorial Court of Clare College


Mobile Telephones

All delegates must switch off all mobile telephones
before entering the Riley Auditorium.


Oral Presentations

A secretarial office on the ground floor of The Gillespie Center
will be available to the speakers for previewing their
Powerpoint slides before their presentations.
Presentations of invited speakers and presenters of oral
presentations must be provided as Microsoft Powerpoint
files, arranged in the exact order, and handed to the
persons in charge of projections at least 30 minutes
prior to the start of the corresponding session or
during breaks (coffee/lunch) prior to the session



Poster Presentations

Poster presentations will be held in the Elton-Bowring Room at
The Gillespie Center. The set up and the removal of
the posters must be carried out by authors
according to the following schedule.

Poster et up: by 08:30 hrs every morning
Poster removal: after 17:00 hrs every evening

Poster Session I: Monday, September 12, 2011: 12:15 – 14:00
Poster Session II: Tuesday, September 13, 2011: 12:00 – 14:00
Poster Session III: Wednesday, September 14, 2011: 12:00 – 14:00

At least one of the authors is required to attend his or her
poster during the presentation time period set in the
programme (i.e. from 12:00 to 14:00). Poster session
moderators will lead through poster presentations.

The Organizers are not responsible for any items,
including posters, left in the rooms.


Presentations Rules for Chairs

Time-tables for all of the scientific sessions must be strictly controlled.
Chairs of oral sessions and symposia are asked to remind and, if
necessary, to interrupt speakers if the time allowed for each
presentation is exceeded. Moderators of the poster
sessions are requested to have poster presenters give a
short but complete overview of their work and to lead
the discussion with the audience.



Last Minute Changes Regarding Presentations and Chairs

A notice-board will be placed in the conference area, for
any last-minute changes in the program, as well as for
other types of essential information intended for the
conference delegates. Conference delegates are kindly
asked to check this board frequently.



Coffee Breaks

Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided at The Gillespie Center,
Clare College during breaks of the morning and afternoon sessions.


Lunches

Lunch will be served on September 12th, 13th and 14th in
the
Garden Room as well as the Elton-Bowring Room at The
Gillespie Center at Clare College. Please consult the programme
for specific lunch times, as they vary slightly on each day.


Recordings of Presentations, Online Conference, and Publication

In order to provide online coverage of ET-12
and to allow revisiting the science presented at ET-12
after the conference lectures and talks will be recorded in HD
for online video presentation. Presentations will
be made available online as HD movie files after the
conference through a special internet website in collaboration
with Elsevier Publishers. Video recordings of presentations
will also be published together with manuscripts
originating from the presentation of the authors on
the ET-12 Special Issue of Life Sciences website which will be
published in 2012 (
example of appearance of a manuscript linked with
downloadable video recording in another Elsevier journal). There will
be no charge for this special educational service to the authors.


Publication of Conference Proceedings

All accepted abstracts are eligible for publication as original manuscript.
Manuscripts need to be submitted online only by November 1, 2011.
All authors of accepted abstracts will receive detailed information about the
submission procedure by July 2011. There be no submission or publishing
charges. All manuscripts will undergo peer-review, and accepted manuscripts
will be published in a Special Issue of the Elsevier journal
Life Sciences which
will be edited by Matthias Barton, M.D., University of Zurich, Switzerland.
All manuscripts will be published “Open Access
TM” at no additional charge.
The ET-12 Special Issue is expected to be published by mid 2012. Accepted
abstracts will be published in the ET-12 Conference Program and Abstract Book,
regular abstracts (but not late-breaking abstracts) will be published
online only in
The Proceedings of the British Pharmacological Society .
